Our President and Founder
Judy Ashley, President and Founder of Charter Specialists, boasts over 5 decades of unparalleled experience in the yachting industry. Her expertise spans both sailing and motor yachts, ranging from 24 to 198 feet. Judy's nautical adventures have taken her across the entire Caribbean, the alluring Bahamas, Central America, and iconic sailing regions of New England, historic Greece, Italy, France, Turkey, Croatia, and the Indian Ocean.
Her journey began in the family dive business, hosting Custom-led SCUBA trips all over the Caribbean. Driven by a deep passion, she purchased her own boat in the early 70s and has since sailed everything from pocket yachts to tall ships, ocean racers, and luxurious motor yachts. Judy has served in diverse roles, including delivery skipper, navigator, woodworker, and sail maker, cultivating a comprehensive understanding of the industry from the ground up.
